When we set out to create the branding for a new boutique hotel in the heart of South Carolina, we knew we wanted to build more than just a visual identity—we wanted to evoke a feeling - of arrival, of serenity, of timeless belonging. And so, The Wren was born.
Inspired by the State Bird of South Carolina
We started with a symbol deeply rooted in place: the Carolina Wren. This small, unassuming bird may not boast the grand stature of other fauna, but it carries something infinitely more powerful—grace, resilience, and a gentle spirit that harmonizes with its surroundings. The wren is a creature of song and shelter, often nesting close to humans, always finding home wherever it lands. What better muse for a tranquil haven designed for the modern traveler?
